The new design of the Serena is similar to the Nissan MPV Flagship, the Nissan Elgrand.

new nissan MPV

The latest Nissan MPV was introduced recently. It was reveled during the Geneva 2009 Motor show and it is called NV200 MPV, which goes on sale in Europe this autumn.

The NV200 has sliding side doors and up to 4.1 cubic metres of cargo capacity. It is less than 4.4m long, but has a load bay over two metres, and has a low floor for easy loading. Its payload is up to 771kg. The NV200 is front-wheel-drive and will come with a 1.6-litre petrol engine (108bhp) or the 86bhp 1.5dCi Renault diesel, and a five-speed manual gearbox.

Built on a version of the ‘B’ Platform shared by the Cube and Micra, the Nissan NV200 is a front-wheel-drive van motivated by either a 1.6 litre petrol engine making 81kW (108hp), or the likely more appealing 1.5 litre diesel with 64kW (86hp) and 142Nm (150lb-ft)of torque

Equipment available in the Combi includes heating and ventilation for all three rows of seats, a rear-view parking camera, cup and bottle holders, electric windows, stability control and side airbags (front airbags are standard).

my nissan serena

in the year 2005, i make a vital decision to buy a car that which is spacious and brand new. But the main thing is .... within my budget . I've looked around and saw Toyota Estima .... wow... it is wonderful ... but only recon version is within budget ... then there is the long waited Toyota Avanza ... but it is too small and the waiting list is so long. Same thing goes to Naza Ria, quite along list for a RM98k MPV.

one day ... when i was driving .... i saw a MPV which is different from the rest. i followed it and to my surprise..!!! it is a Nissan Serena.... the design is a bit diffrent from the current version (ver 2001). Then i went to the nearest Tan Chong motor to get a closer look. So the version that i saw was the 2005 face lift version. I went for a test drive and i like it. So in the year 2005, i trade-in my Kembara for a Serena. And i'm still using it till today.

So far, i didn't have no problem with it.

info on version 2004

Version 2004 is different from the previous versions in alot of aspect such look and feel, engine technology and design. Although the latest release is far more attractive as well as stylish and groovy. Never the less the version 2004 is considered good in lots of aspects compared to the previous version as well as the other competitors.

The new engine, which drives the front wheels, is the QR20DE 2.0-litre 16-valve engine with CVTC (Continuously Variable Valve Timing control) to optimize performance and boost torque in the low to midrange. The engine is also very fuel efficient and environment-friendly. Of note is the use of an electrically-actuated throttle (by-wire) which gives more refined performance and quick response. Incidentally, this engine is also fitted to the popular X-Trail SUV.

The Serena comes only with a 4-speed E-ATx automatic transmission which has an E-Flow torque converter. The latter reduces power losses in the hydraulic system to improve performance and also promotes smoother shifting.

Active safety is also generously provided to help the driver avoid accidents. There’s ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) which is especially valuable for a MPV that can have varying loads on board and also varying distribution of the load. With EBD, braking efficiency is optimised between front and rear wheels for balanced stopping power.

Safety-wise, the Serena meets high standards which are encompassed in the Nissan Triple Safety Concept. It has scored five stars in the Japanese New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP) so it is a very safe MPV. This high standard of safety comes from having such features as a Zone Body Construction which provides superior protection for the occupants during an accident. Additionally, the front occupants also have the extra protection from SRS airbags,

There’s lots of room for seven adults in the 3.9 square metre (42 sq ft) cabin which is claimed to have best-in-class height and width. The large glass panels around it have heat-absorbing film to reduce heat gain within while allowing light to come in. Leather upholstery is standard with second-row ‘captain seats’ and there is a possibility of nine different seating arrangements. For maximum cargo capacity, folding up the seats will provide up to 1,360 litres of space. Alternatively, the second and third rows can be folded flat to form a bed of sorts.

smaller nissan MPV

Yet another version of MPV from Nissan,Grand LIVINA, which is to me, meant for a smaller group of people or families with small kids.

The Nissan GRAND LIVINA, an MPV that will attract more than a few admirers. To me, it is a answer from Nissan for other mid range MPVs like Honda Stream and Toyota Wish. With good looks that do not deceive, the charm of this MPV immediately appears once it’s on the road. Delivering to you the personality and excitement for an energetic and comfortable drive. This is an MPV that will definitely leave an impression.

The GRAND LIVINA is an MPV that easily matches your needs. Commute with confidence knowing that this MPV has the space to transport items for work while possessing the capacity to fit seven anytime. Creating an MPV that has gained worldwide respect and admiration.

history of nissan serena

Serena .... something to know about nissan serena ...

The Nissan Serena started life as a very small people carrier , but grew larger over time. Earlier versions were FR layout with a live axle mounted on leaf springs. Later versions had a multilink independent rear suspension , and were FF layout or 4WD. The most popular versions were the 2.3 diesel engines and it was unusual as the MPV had 8 seats instead of the usual 7.
variants

1.MkI C23 series (1991-1999)
2.
MkII c24 (1999-2005)
3.
MkIII c25 (2005-Present)

The 2005 version
of SERENA creates an impressive presence while embodying today’s travelling style. Its body-coloured front grille exudes a sporty and youthful appeal while the front and rear bumpers add a sense of width and stability. And for all its width, the sleek streamlined design from hood to roof gives the Nissan SERENA a sharp yet simple side silhouette.

Of course, what makes it a prime property is its renowned QR20DE 2.0L CVTC engine and state-of-art safety and security technologies.

The latest version of serena which is version 2009 has been launched in Japan. The new Nissan Serena Highway Star is destined for the Japanese market. The Nissan Serena Highway Star has a very versatile interior with seats that are adjustable to 11 different positions and third-row seats that utilize assist springs. The Nissan Serena Highway Star price range is between 2,131,500 yen 2,709,000 yen.

The Highway Star model also features more dynamic front-end styling, with even stronger character lines. It is also distinctive and modern front end design, including a new grille, new headlights, front bumper and fenders compared to the previous versions.

These
additions improve upon an already highly practical and stylish minivan, with large side sliding doors and low floor height for easy entry and exit, standard sliding door automatic closing feature on both sides of all models and on the 20G model, standard remote-controlled automatic sliding side doors. Eight body colors are available on the new Serena, including three new colors – a metallic Kingfisher Blue, a pearlescent Rose Red and a pearl metallic Cool Iron.

New available Serena technology equipment includes Nissan's advanced Around View Monitor(*2), a technology that is offered together in a set with the CARWINGS navigation system as a factory-installed option on the 20G and Highway Star models. The Around View Monitor combines with the wide outward view provided by Serena’s large glass areas, making Serena even easier to maneuver in tight situations.

Also new is an intelligent air-conditioning system which incorporates a one-touch automatic clean air filtering function, standard on the G20 and optional on other models.

Additional technical enhancements include an exclusive suspension system on the Highway Star model for more stable handling and improved ride comfort. A new Active Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) is also standard on the Highway Star model.

The new Serena’s powerplant was designed with environmental efficiency in mind. To that end, it has been confirmed under the recently adopted Japan's JC08 mode(*3) that all two-wheel drive Serena models emit 75% fewer nitrogen oxides (NOx) and non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC) than the levels required under Japan's 2005 exhaust emission regulations. Four-wheel drive models also attain the same reduced emission levels under the 10-15+11 test mode.

Fuel economy for the two-wheel drive models has been clarified to closely match actual fuel consumption in real-world driving conditions, through tests conducted JC08 test mode, as well as on conventional 10-15 test mode data. To assist Serena drivers in matching those numbers, all models feature a new fuel consumption display function added to the liquid crystal display odometer and twin trip meter.
